Julie Ashkenazi, MS, BCBA

I use research methodologies and lived experiences to study the impact of behavioral interventions on learners and families in order to promote better, more neuroinclusive ABA practices and strengthen the relationship between the autistic and behavior analytic communities.

Julie Ashkenazi (she/her) is the founder of Synthesis Behavior, a behavior analytic consultancy dedicated to bridging the gap between parents and professionals and advancing better, more neuroinclusive ABA practices. After earning her B.A. from Dominican University, Julie enjoyed a career as an art director and, later, a creative director in the consumer packaged goods industry. Her career took an unexpected turn when a loved one received an autism diagnosis, which prompted her to enroll in a graduate program. She received an M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from Endicott College, where she completed her studies with a concentration in autism. Based in Los Angeles, Julie is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst committed to enhancing quality of life with neurodivergent-affirming applied behavior analysis. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts, California Association for Behavior Analysis, and Massachusetts Professionals in Behavior Analysis. Her areas of interest include autism, ethics, parent collaboration, and improving service accessibility for adult and adolescent learners.
